Dr. Boris Rubinstein
I am a physician licensed by the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts. I am Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (in psychiatry) and sub-certified by the latter board in child psychiatry. I hold a master’s degree in public health, with special competency in mental health. After my training, I became the Director of Psychiatry at Blythedale Children’s Hospital, a hospital for chronically handicapped children. I also served as director of the Child Psychiatry Liaison Service at Children’s Hospital of New York from 1980 until 1993.
Currently I am in the private practice of child and adolescent psychiatry as well as general psychiatry.
I am also a consultant psychiatrist at the Center for Discovery in Harris, New York, a facility that treats severely handicapped children including children with mental retardation, developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. I have written chapters in academic textbooks on developmental disabilities. I am a special lecturer in psychiatry and pediatrics at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, where I teach medical students, residents and staff physicians.
